I WATCH ON

My body froze as fear
gripped my heart
An eerie sound of metal
ripping apart
Slippery tar as the rain
has reached an end
Metal buckles metal around
a slopey bend
Glass - metal - rubber - bodies
a horrendous sight to look upon
I could not move - so frozen
I just stand and I watch on…

The chilling sound of screams
fill the air
Bustling is all I can see in this
turmoil of utmost despair
Tears uncontrollably run down my face
Oh! if I can only move out of this place!
My heart breaks I can feel their pain
'No please no - 'Jesus' - no more rain
Can you not see they have enough to bare
Show them your compassion -that you care
Why is this happening let me be undone'
Yet frozen I stand and I watch on…

Blue lights illuminate the darkness
Screams echoing into the vastness
Send your angels Jesus your angels
of mercy
For if I cannot move I shall pray for
victory
For healing over the wounded
a place with You for the dead
Jesus most of all I pray for those left
behind a future they now dread
A ghastly still - everyone has gone
Yet frozen I stand and I watch on…
