REBORN

Immersed in doubt I contemplate
the worth of my existence
Oh! how my imperfections exude
my cowardly insignificance
At every turn ravenous wolves
claim righteous passage
Masters of illusion concealing
their inner savage
Fearing their birthing scorn I burrow
deep within a cocoon of unreality
For but a moment a vision escapes
the confounds of my insanity
Does the butterfly not parade
herself for all to see
Fluttering in the splendor of her
magnificence no matter how short
her life may be
Aware perhaps at the erupting
violence of the world that spurts
forth molten lava of hate
Engulfing everything in its path of
destruction, embracing its fate
Embarking on a mighty feast of
malicious scorn
Yet beneath its destiny of
smoldering smoke a newness
is born
I am given then to release myself
from the entrapment of my mind
Surfing this birthing wave of truth
that I have freely  found
Breaking free revealing the hidden
beauty bestowed upon me
Emanating the pureness of Christ's
love and boldly be all He created
me to be...

Psalm 27.1 : The Lord is my light and
my salvation so why should I be afraid.
