IN A WORLD THAT CARES

Sadly I look around me
Disheartened at lifes cruelty
Bones piercing through my skin
Tummy bloated - arms and legs so thin
Born in a world of poverty
In this God forsaken country
I am not ignorant - do not mind my person
My need - my want can only worsen...

Standing in lines so long
Feeling I've been done so wrong
A little bowl in hand
Barefoot in this dry dilapitated land
OH wow! as pristine a creature I've ever seen
A beauty radiating gleem
Who is this person so fine
Perfect compared to my grime
From a world of milk and honey I hear
How perfect her skin - her lips - her hair...

Monies she's donated to our cause
Medical supplies - crates filled with gauze
How I dream to look that way
I lick my fingers to keep my hair at bay
With haste I quickly focus
Understanding she's not here to hocus
With love she speaks of a man
As a servant healing all he can
I listen agape at what's been said
My lifes supply - My new daily bread
I give my life to Jesus - Nothing Compares
With eyes anew I look around in a world that cares...
